A Brief History of Christmas Time at Disneyland!

It’s the most wonderful time — at the parks! Yes, we’re back with a little history lesson, but this time we’re covering the history of the holidays at the Disneyland Resort. When did Candlelight start? How many parades have there been? Which attractions got previews during the Christmas Day Parade on  ABC? And more!

Listen along as we delve into the histories of such modern classics as “It’s a Small World Holiday,” “¡Viva Navidad!,” as well as cover some of the newer traditions that can be found at the resort today!

We also highlight some festive holiday videos from the parks which you can revisit right here:

1993: Regis previews the BRAND NEW Twilight Zone Tower of Terror!

2002: Regis just loves Hilary Duff’s performance!

2003: George Lopez previews the BRAND NEW Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s California Adventure!

The fabulous reindeer at Walt Disney World’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

And finally, this is the commercial I grew up on an reference (or sing) many times every holiday season:
